Communication

Continuous and clear communication is essential in our work environment. Communication is a two way street – we believe that fully successful communication requires as much listening as talking. Strive to understand your peers’ points of view.  We all undergo stressful moments during this job; practice empathy and compassion when someone speaks to you in a way that is less than ideal. Communicate grievances early, but not until you are able to express yourself calmly and with caring.

We have many bilingual staff members; it is important to recognize the challenge this can present to proper communication, and ensure that we communicate clearly and with patience.
